Rentschler Library would like to welcome its newest staff member, Kathleen Pickens-French, who joined us Monday, Jan. 12th as Public Services Librarian. She comes to us from Ball State University’s Bracken Library where she held the position of Access Services Evening Supervisor. She has a B.A. in History with a minor in English from Northern Kentucky University. She later earned a Master of Library Science from the Indiana University School of Library and Information Science, Indianapolis.
Kathleen will be responsible for using Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 technologies, such as blogs, wikis, podcasts, RSS feeds, and social networking tools to create a user-centered on-line presence for the library. She will also be working at the library’s information desk, leading library instruction sessions, and selecting materials in subjects like sociology, anthropology, criminal justice, black world studies and law.
We’re happy to have Kathleen on our staff and we hope you’ll stop by Rentschler Library to introduce yourself to her.
