Pandemic

fluYou’ve probably heard the word tossed around a lot this week–whether from your friends/family talking, the media, or even from President Obama. What IS it? A pandemic is basically an epidemic stepped up a few notches, with the ability to affect more people and to cover a greater geographic region than an epidemic. Quite simply, it’s scary. Sometimes learning more about an issue can help you fight off the fright; increasing awareness may also be a good safeguard against infectious disease.
