What’s your sign? No, the library isn’t hitting on you…

The Chinese New Year begins on February 14th, so what better way to celebrate than to learn a little about your Chinese Zodiac?  It is believed that the animal ruling one’s birth year has a tremendous influence on both your personality AND on your destiny. There is even a saying that:  “This animal hides in your heart.”  So, either head to the closest Chinese restaurant & take a peek at the menu, or just click HERE to learn more about your sign (including which animals you’re compatible with–might change your Valentine’s Day plans!).

We also need YOUR HELP with a fun little related project. We have a group of amazing visiting students from Xi’an, China who are going to be lettting you have a peak into their lives & culture via a library display this Spring.  The question is:  what would you like to learn about our international Chinese students? Are you wondering what the biggest shock they had was coming to the U.S.? Are you wondering what they did for fun back home? Are you wondering where they like to shop? Drop us your questions in person via the little comment box by the Reference desk, comment on our Facebook page, or just leave your question as a comment on this post (it will ask for your name/email, but you don’t have to fill it all out).  We want to here from you!

  1. Does your university ever close up because of bad weather?

  2. If you could visit anywhere in the United States, where would you want to go and why? Are you going to get to go while you are here?

  3. What kind of music do you listen to in China? Do you have a favorite American singer/band, too?
