Do YOU Haiku? Enter our 2012 Haiku Contest!

When: January 16th – February 3rd.

Who: Open to Miami affiliates, including students, faculty, & staff.

Where: Submit your original haiku in person at Rentschler Library or by following the big link below.

What are the rules? Only 1 submission per person (no profanity please!) and ALL submissions must be your own creative work or you will be disqualified from the contest. If you submit multiple entries, only your first submission will be reviewed.

What will I win?: If you are picked the 2012 Haiku Champion, you’ll win bragging rights AND your awesome haiku will be featured on the library’s Original Haikus page. Can’t beat that!

How will a know I won? Winners will be notified by email/phone by February 17th.

How do I write a haiku? You’ve got 3 lines to write. The first one is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables, and then back to 5 syllables for the last line. No exceptions! An example is below:

Wakened by birdsong;

drifting from one world of dreams

into another
