Do you Haiku? Enter the Rentschler Library Haiku Contest

Monday, Jan. 14th kicks off the 4th annual Rentschler Library Haiku contest.  Haikus are short, three-line poems that feature 17 syllables – 5 on the first line, 7 on the second line, and 5 on the third line.  Here’s an example:

Silence around us
Our watchful eyes hear the world
Hands do the talking *

Submit your haiku online at  or stop by the library and use one of the paper forms on our haiku display.  The winner will have their haiku featured prominently on our website. The contest will run through Feb. 1st.  See the link above for more details.
