The Haikus of Winter: Annual Haiku Contest

When: February 3rd-21stKinkaku in the snow
Who: Open to Miami affiliates, including students, faculty, & staff
Where: Submit your original haiku about some aspect of winter in person at Rentschler Library or by using the online form.
What are the rules?: Only 1 submission per person (no profanity please!) and ALL submissions must be your own creative work or you will be disqualified from the contest. If you submit multiple entries, only your first submission will be reviewed. Don’t forget to follow the theme and write about some aspect of winter.
How will I know I won?: Winners will be notified by email/phone by February 28th
How do I write a haiku?: You’ve got 3 lines to write. The first one is 5 syllables, the second line is 7 syllables, and then back to 5 syllables for the last line. No exceptions! An example is below:

If the snow should come,
Barren arms the trees shall spread,
To greet the first flakes.
