Rentschler Library is celebrating Black History Month with a display of and books by famous African-American authors of the last 350 years. The display has pictures and short bibliographies of just a small number of important African-American poets, novelists, historians and playwrights who had (and still have) a profound impact on American history and culture.
At left is Alice Walker, b. 1944, author of “The Color Purple” which won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
There are a lot of Black History Month events going on at the Regional campuses over the next month, including film discussions, lectures, and free soul food.
